The Deuces Wild Endurance Festival is returning to Show Low following a postponement due to COVID-19 in 2020. Held over two days in June, there are many races to choose from including triathlons, aquabikes, runs and relays! This year, the festival will be taking place at Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area on June 5th and 6th. Participants will swim and run in the recreation area, and the bicycle courses go through the City of Show and as far as Snowflake-Taylor before returning to the park. Deuces Wild has been a long-standing tradition that promotes outdoor activity, fitness, and competition for athletes while supporting local non-profits, businesses, and educational organizations. The Deuces Wild team is excited to be back in person promoting outdoor activities and endurance races. Sean Ryan, Race Director, says “This has obviously been a very challenging year for families and individuals in our Northern Arizona communities and around the world, so we are excited to have this event back on the calendar and have people out and having fun. Safety is number one, and we take pride in providing an event that supports the local community and promotes a family-focused, active, outdoor lifestyle. We take COVID-19 very seriously and have focused to eliminate or mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission throughout our event. Deuces Wild is a USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event and we have aligned our event with USAT Return to Racing Guidelines. We really appreciate working with the City of Show Low, Park officials, sponsors, participants, and community members to bring this event back in person.”
Course set up and participant check-in will take place starting Friday, June 4th, with race events starting at 6AM on June 5th and continuing through early afternoon on June 6th. While roads and highways will remain open, please be aware that there may be some delays at key intersections and when crossing the bicycle courses. It is important for cyclists and drivers to stay aware and safe. In addition, some areas of the park will be closed for the event.
